Storyline

Matt Haller is a defense lawyer who works out of his Lincoln. When a wealthy Realtor is accused of raping a prostitute, Haller is asked to defend him. Sinopsis Indonesia

Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey) adalah Lincoln Lawyer, bukan karena ia punya nama Lincoln namun karena mobil Lincoln Town adalah tempat kerjanya. Mickey memang bukan pengacara sukses namun setidaknya mata pencahariannya ini sanggup membiayai hidup Mickey sehari-hari. Sayangnya, ketika sebuah kesempatan besar datang, Mickey mulai mempertanyakan etika dari pekerjaan yang ia jalani.

Tidak seperti kebanyakan klien yang ia dapat, klien kali ini adalah seorang putra seorang wanita kaya. Mickey harus membela seorang playboy bernama Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe) yang dituduh melakukan perkosaan dan usaha pembunuhan. Semula, Mickey mengira kalau Louis hanyalah pria kaya yang jadi korban pemerasan seperti yang sering ia hadapi dan karena itu ia tak menolak kesempatan emas ini.

Saat Mickey mulai menangani kasus ini dan melakukan penyelidikan untuk mencari bukti-bukti untuk membebaskan Louis dari jerat hukum, pengacara ini mulai meragukan kejujuran Louis. Tak lama kemudian muncul dugaan kalau kasus ini ada sangkut-pautnya dengan kasus pembunuhan yang pernah ditangani Mickey. Pertanyaannya, setelah bertahun-tahun tak pernah mempermasalahkan benar dan salah, apakah kali ini Mickey masih tetap bisa mempertahankan prinsipnya itu?
